WROT [rot] / WROUGHT [rôt] [rawt] / ROT [rät]

Suspended in the grey area between disciplines and mediums, WROT is a studio intent on exploring the frayed relationship between the natural and constructed world. Habitually aiming to tease the unexpected out through the details.

MEDIUM

The tools used in the design process inevitably skew and guide our decisions, defining the final output. Imperfections introduced by the hand can surprise us, producing unexpected results. Working by hand is a process of discovery, and the lack of perfection translated during the pursuit of an idea is an opportunity for exploitation.

Digital production affords the designer an ever-growing toolbox and a freedom and scale in 3d space not afforded to analog mediums. Tool sets and technical limitations have a way of inhibiting and marking your work, digital or physical.

The barriers between these media are permeable, and the faults in each are your ally. Our vision gains clarity through our medium, and the tools we use. WROT is not tied to a medium, but uses varied techniques to focus a lens around common ideas.

STUDIES

Ongoing | Sketches, concepts, and formal explorations. This is where ideas are first explored and shared in their infancy.
